Intro
I want to give an introduction to what this substack will be about. It’s going to be an analysis of humanity and all that it entails, such as; politics, religion, culture, psychology, and biology.
The material will be represented through the view of a fictional extraterrestrial that lives among humans because of an anthropological study of humans being performed by his race. This experiment is being performed with the assistance of a technology that makes it possible for our protagonist to experience a human life from birth to death, and then wake up on his home planet and give a full report to his superiors. He is one of 1,246 participants, and all are supposed to be unaware of their engagement, so they do not contaminate the results of the experiment they are engaged in.
However, our protagonist has ended up with the knowledge of his true origin, the reasons for this are multiple, some self-inflicted, while others are coincidental. He has spent most of his life collecting data, at first to be able to blend in and not draw too much attention. Although, as of late, cohabitating on this planet with humans has been very challenging for our protagonist. To mitigate this, he decided to write his report for the anthropological experiment as an observer, since his awareness of the experiment already disqualified his involvement.
This was not a true altruistic endeavor, but a form of therapy. However, the mitigating effects were short-lived, and that is when he decided to start writing a blog. First and foremost, consider the therapeutic effects that a journal can provide. Although, he has come to view humans as daemons in his personal hell that only exist to torment him with their oh-so-human ways, his biological existence as a human has him hoping for the existence of someone who would utilize the material for the betterment of humanity as a whole. Although, beyond his human biology, he is flawed with an affinity for other humans and millions of years of evolutionary dispositions, he knows that they are incapable of such insight and self-awareness.
